It has "obscured the light of the Gospel to a degree that not even centuries of persecution succeeded in doing," and he expresses a desire to help "bring healing to the victims and to all those affected by these egregious crimes….” The letter is about eighteen pages, but read the whole thing.

McDonald's

From his purging of gays and his missteps with the Muslims Benedict has failed to impress. He gets automatic good-will because he's the Pope, but not for anything he's done. His poor handling of the latest scandal highlights the insular nature of the papacy, not the holy. He should do Leno.
