Going, going...

When I said after the '08 election that Harry Reid was the outgoing Senate majority leader, but didn't know it yet, I was thinking that the caucus was very likely to jettison him forthwith as an ineffective leader. That didn't happen, but John Fund seems to be saying that this time around, being dumped as leader is an excessively optimistic assesment of Reid's chances. He faces an almost insurmountable task in merely being reelected, and may retire.

What an amazing commentary on the first year of this Presidency: the trickle of Democrats retiring rather than facing electoral humiliation may turn into a flood that includes the sitting majority leader.

If Obamacare is so popular, how has it come to this for its standard-bearer?
