Like me, Uncle Jimbo of BLACKFIVE blog went to see the Messiah. Like me, he was unimpressed. Unlike me, his camera didn't choke and he has a great BLACKFIVE-TV video report!
Obama is a rockstar and there are a whole lot of people who just want a fresh face, who sounds good and makes them feel good. That is Obama to a T.
Head on over and check it out.

Are we really that shallow? Don't answer that.

Kinda feel sorry for Hillary. She has yet to realize that it's not about her- it doesn't really matter what she does. She's running against Elvis.
Elvis
And she would be?

Oh you brute!
All this emphasis on substance and facts...its all so...American.
Do what you are supposed to: turn off your mind, relax, and float downstream!!!
Ah....Barack makes everything better.
Rich, your argument about the importance of substance is valid,
but a quibble. First, in the interest of full disclosure, let me come out and say that I voted for Obama in the Maryland primary, and I'm basically willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. His strengths are well-established, yet I totally recognize that he must begin to fill in the blanks on his policy substance. As to the general election, he's going to have to convince me that he has what it takes.
As to your Hitler analogy in your blog post, I don't think you Godwinned yourself, but I just feel the need to point out that Hitler had a well-oiled propaganda machine in place, in order to brainwash the German people into embracing him, In other words, it wasn't just that he was charismatic. His monstrous policies were well-established. Not to mention that Obama's whole approach was fundamentally different...do I even need to point this out?
UPDATE: Rereading your post, and realizing your point was more abbout the media coverage of Obama, than Obama himself.

Anyone else suffering Deja Vu from 1976? (Granted, I don't recall a lot of the politics myself. Mostly what I read. I was more concerned with other things)
