Keep in mind that that at this point we're still talking about a suspect, someone not yet charged. I'm not a court so I don't have to presume them innocent, but barring more evidentiary confirmation the possibility that the suspect was set up still remains open. The circumstantial evidence leans against him, but circumstantial evidence can be very misleading. IOW, don't throw the rope over the branch yet.
His name is David Kernell and he's the 20-year old son of Mike Kernell, a Tennessee Democratic state representative. David is a student at University of Tennessee-Knoxville. To judge from the screenshots of his Facebook entry, he's decidedly a leftie. He describes his politics as "Obamacrat" and appears to be part of the UT for Barack Obama club. His father Mike Kernell is apparently about as left-wing as one can manage to be in the Tennessee legislature, and is a career pol who's been in office for 32 years.
If David Kernell was set up as a goat, they picked a good one.
The Memphis FBI office has confirmed that they are involved in the investigation after it was referred to them by the Anchorage office.
In other update news, the DoJ has apparently told the Obama campaign that they will not assist them in trying to muzzle the free speech rights of an anti-Obama group running commercials about the Bill Ayers connection by pursuing strong-arm criminal investigations against them. Just in case anyone missed it, this is the ad that the Obama campaign tried to suppress with strong-arm tactics:
