Michelle Malkin has received (and accepted) an invitation to accompany Eason Jordan to Iraq to look for Jamil Hussein. Ms. Malkin has in turn requested that Jordan also invite Curt from Flopping Aces, the blogger who broke the story about the story.
My primary assumption is that Mr. Jordan knows that because of his past record we're not likely to take his word for it. While in Iraq, they can seek not just the elusive Jamil Hussein, but also the four mosques destroyed in AP's story. Confederate Yankee has searched the field of high technology and discovered a new device that can help verify their findings, one apparently unavailable to AP.
(When Mr. Jordan's credibility fell apart, he stepped down. But when AP reporters and editors lose credibility, they get promoted. Makes you wonder.)
For those who think it's just about one story, Michael Fumento presciently noted the Jamil Hussein problem before it went public, explaining what some of us have known for a while now about the "stringer problems" associated with the reporting from the war. Maybe Eason Jordan should invite him along as well.
Gateway Pundit has some suggestions on other AP "sources" they can check out while they're there.
