Blog Roll

WSJ and the Blog Revolution

Submitted by Tully on Tue, 12/26/2006 - 4:45pm

Proof that the Blog Revolution is making some inroads can be found on the editorial pages of today's Wall Street Journal Online, where Omar of the blog Iraq The Model has a prominent BLOG POST op/ed article on "How to beat Iraq's Shiite extremists."

I wish to be the first (or at least among the first--I haven't dug deeply yet) to note that this is the exact same major media outlet, the very same Opinion Journal Online web site, that last week featured puppy journalist Joseph Rago's "Blog Mob" op/ed, in which Rago co-opted the words of Joseph Conrad to call blogs "Written by fools to be read by imbeciles."

And I wish to note for the record that Omar's op/ed got better placement than Rago's. Ah, sweet irony!

I also highly recommend the latest post to Iraq the Model, wherein Omar asks, when did wondering become analysis?
